Vintage set of Yuri Gagarin souvenir postcards
Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin was born on this day – 9 March – in 1934, so today seems an excellent moment to look at this wonderful set of vintage postcards issued in 1969. The set consists of 25 uncirculated souvenir postcards illustrating important moments – both public and private – in his all too short life, which ended on 27 March 1968 after his pane crashed during a routine training flight.
